What destination sites did you have in mind as examples?

I don't have the slightest ideas which ones will likely be the money makers.

The type of destination sites are the ones that capture the most eye balls in the sense that they are the sites people keep like to end up at. The statistics (sorry, but I can't quote them and don't know where to refer you to them) suggest that the amount of time a person lingers at a destination site is longer than at a portal, and that the products and advertising being offered at a destination site will usually be of greater interest to the user. As a result, the advertising will be better targeted, offering better results for the advertiser and more money per clicks and eyeballs for the publisher.

Ideal destination sites will be those that the consumers use on a regular basis, such as their bank's site, their favorite clothing store's web site, etc.

The Internet is new enough still that the idea of what the successful destination sites will look like isn't yet determined. The sight might be an entertainment site that provides links to related sites. It might be a mall of sorts that has links to all the brand-name retailers. Or it might be the site of just one retailer.

Make sense?
