Sig,
Hi!!!

RE: Bad news for the bears:

Another one of your unusually kind posts.... :o)

Been thinking of some possibilities...perhaps you may find some interest:

1. Sources tell me that CPQ is in much greater trouble than anyone to date wishes to admit..."much greater"....
2. IBM rumor up here is as frequent as those rattlesnakes in your backyard...
Combining these two possibilities I wonder what chance anyone else would stand against DELL...Is there a chance "MICHAEL DELL IS UNSTOPPABLE".... :o)
Perhaps we shouldn't count on any "rumor"....so let's just assume that the opportunity HUGE that Michael referred to...CPQ ...is for a long long long time...Don't you find it interesting that the CEO they chose at CPQ ...Continental Air...turned down the offer? :o) Perhaps he doesn't want to be the "axe" for what I have heard...
But, then back to this IBM possibility....In a statement made last week from San Jose IBM laid off some workers at a DD facility....one analyst referred to this unsuspecting move as "strange" and couldn't figure out "why they would do this considering they may miss a complete cycle"....Strange Sig?? :o)
What else has been bothering me is a statement .... I really can't recall where I heard it...but, I do believe I heard it in Austin last year...perhaps from Robert Williams...or was it at the actual meeting? It was a phrase that hit me around a month ago when all this came out about CPQ..."one of DELL's strategies for the coming year is to further consolidate the PC industry"....like I said I really can't attribute it to anyone but it was a statement that I firmly remember coming from Austin....Curious because I "see" two very strong possibilities that really make sense when I use a quote from Meathead: "Michael Dell once said that if CPQ fails in their acquisition of DEC it would be like handing DELL the keys to the kingdom"....
Sig...I feel the sales reps are convincing many many many corporations of this right now....I don't think the average investor has figured this out yet...It bothers me that the analysts will come screaming like Jason is chasing them when they "foresee" any downfall in the industry....Where is there accountability for the screaming of the long term positive possibilities?? Is accountability not held in high esteem when they are positive? DELL has destroyed the other two I have mentioned and are they receiving the proper credit for what appears to be a future of dominance in this industry? Or are these firms still protecting their archaic shares of CPQ that have mold on em? Someone should be doing some research and hunting here...I can't be the only guy falling into these bits of info...

Quite a few assumptions here Sig...quite a few mixes of what if....
Just thinking on a hot hot hot day.....
:o)

Best, Kemble
