Service in the home National Guard was a joke and a wish for those without connections during that era. Flying sorties over Austin ain't service in my book Jack, when others were getting their heads blown off in Da Nang, or losing their legs to Claymores in swamps 10,000 miles from home. We are talking honor here. As a registered REPUBLICAN, I expect more of the party than to nominate this yellow coward. Excuses for him, anyone??? Paste them on the War Memorial in D.C.--you can paste the words "at least he served in Amarillo" over the name of your favorite war corpse.
