James, some people liked betamax, some liked 8 tracks, etc. Not everyone survives. That's particularly appropos with the inet, which is in its infancy and will have many opportunities for the strong to swallow the weak, the good to overcome the less good. No industry can support a multitude of services which essentially duplicate each other. For portals, the issue is eyeballs. Either you will have enough of them or not. Using your automobile analogy, how many De Sotos have you seen lately. Or DeLoreans. Or Tuckers. The market will allow only as many as it can consume. That's how it works.

The market will give life or take it away. Whether AV has the power to make it a fixture in the portal world has yet to be seen, but some prominent names today will not be here a few years from now.
