Initial Test results of IBM Microdrive:

This review also reveals insights as to why Iomega Flop built-in is failing as a primary means of storage:

*Battery life of Windows CE device using mechanical IBM Microdrive is cut by more than 2/3. (expect similar results using mechanical Flop! drive)

*Read/Write performance is worse than CompactFlash (Flop is also rated well below CompactFlash in performance)

Advantages that IBM Microdrive has an advantage over Iomega Flop!

*Microdrive can fit into a CompactFlash type II slot (Iomega Flop! can't).

*Microdrive is sealed tight- no dust or dirt or moisture can ever enter the drive (Iomega Flop! is suspeptible to all of these)

Very interesting article, all in all.
