Bookmark stuff

I gave up on bookmarks as a means of navagation. Now, whenever I collect a dozen or so, I copy them into web pages. I put links to these pages on my home page, and all my stuff is a click or two away.

I started doing this because some sites I visit update their material daily, and the URL contains the current date. I have a program which takes the system date and places it into my home page. I put this program into a .JOB file in my TASKS directory, scheduled to run a little past midnight, and when I start each morning, my links are current for the day.

Since both Microsoft and Netscape allow you to display files stored on your machine, this approach may work for you too. It takes a bit of effort to put in place, but once done, it's easy and reliable.

You could back your 'must keep' URLs onto a floppy.

Cheers, PW.
