Last night we walked down to the bay from Bob's house (1/2 a block) and stood on the grass at waters edge. I kept saying we would be able to see 3 displays at least from that spot. We saw 4 different fireworks displays. Oakland, San Mateo, and what I think was Palo Alto
and San Francisco. The San Francisco Chronical sponsored theirs and sunk 100k into it so of course that one was most spectacular. Oakland was not too shabby either. From our vantage point the SF fireworks exploded right above the bay bridge. The bay bridge was all lit up so it was pretty exceptional. We had a nice location with just local families watching. No crowds.
