Sync/async by itself is not a basis for judgement. " still uses synchronous communications, which is clearly a limiting factor." well anything can clearly be limited, asynchronous is not a new concept. So there is basically no content in the paragraph, other than perhaps as a fashion statement. I would suppose that simpler and robust implementations could arise from synchronous .xxxx. Greg
