L3.. Five years ago I envisioned that since trading prices and volume are easily translated into a visualization of waves (height and velocity), it would be possible to create a real time virtual reality display worn as a lightweight helmut. The data stream would be instantly translated into a vision of surfing off a California beach or skiing down a Colorado hill of varrying terrain. Trading would be accomplished through weight shifts via a simulator. Proper use of the trade/surfing product would involve making proper cuts across the varrying slope of the wave face, accelerating or slowing to stay ahead of the loss curve, ie falling behind the crest of the visualized wave. Perfect trading would entail riding the slope of real time data, catching the transitions within the days price/volume channels. Properly tuned, this device and others I can imagine, would translate the unique motor and reflex skills from other disciplines to trading the market as competetively as those with financial analysis skills. Its fun to think about.. you picked up on the psychological weighting important to AI systems with 'cookie' responses. There are many on line services that real time weigh and identify discreet market interests. SI would be a good candidate for such a realtime readout to its members... anyone listening? Jim
