Four fireworks displays at the same time does sound really nice. Watching fireworks far off in the distance seems surreal to me.

Personally, I don't mind braving the crowds to get as close as I can to a fireworks display. I grew up in New Orleans, and crowds are a natural part of things like Mardi Gras and Jazz Fest and the French Quarter, so to me crowds of people are just part of the environment. I have no problem driving in rush hour traffic (don't like it, but can handle it), and don't mind driving in downtown D.C. or even Manhattan.

But I don't deal with crowds on a daily basis - if I did, I doubt I'd want to deal with one on my day off.
