[bt: silicon]

hi ray,

had missed the alphabetical switcheroo: ... have to admit, like it better with fujitsu first... ;-)

have been lost recently @ Nikkei BP AsiaBizTech trying to sort out NTT... who looks to be getting ready to roll... tho would think the $440/mo fee might be a little on the high side for g.lite (maybe plans exist to bring this down for nationwide deployment?) : bizns.nikkeibp.co.jp

nationwide (g.lite) deployment is scheduled for the fall of 2000... seems like the dual bitmap (DBM) part of g.lite might be particularly well suited to japanese infrastructure
bizns.nikkeibp.co.jp

it's a wide wonderful (foreign) world out there- but the jet lag is killing me.. ;-)

and back to the bt drama :

thinking about the adsl silicon for bt:fujitsu/ala, hard to see this as anything other than a positive for orct...

seems highly improbable that fujitsu will be using any silicon other than their own.. which of course means keywave MB86670, which of course means orct will be getting 1/2 of that fujitsu action (at least for the local exchange), whether or not orct is involved with the equipment... :-)

and in all likelihood, bt will have required ala and fujitsu to have sorted out interoperability issues... (or at least to have started down that path).. which would seem to position orct/fujitsu nicely for jpc second source possibilities... (and ft)

see ya
