Wouldn't you agree however that the content that needs to be generated to feed into interactive television, largely, does not exist. Maybe I do not have sufficient imagination...but I just don't see where the revenue is going to come from. Give me some examples of the stuff they're going to try and sell me.
In fact, would somebody go through the PA portfolio and tell me what each of these companies are trying to sell me? Since I saw that Priceline was the largest of these companies, I did go to that site yesterday and test drive it. Unfortunately, I tried to price out a car, and the website could not answer my questions (could not find anything but a 3L engine in the model--my older model has a 3.8L).
Needless to say, I was not blown away, and I certainly wasn't going to name my price for a car I could not find. And besides, Priceline said the service was only in three states anyway. Hey, at least I stuck my toe in the water. Cold. Bottom line, these companies are trying to create demand where there is none.
Sure, there are notable exceptions. I guess Ebay is a wild success. Americans love to buy a lot of stuff, then turn around and sell it...not unlike what they do with stocks and churning perhaps! |
