"Winning that contest at such an early age convinced me that I am a winner, a belief I have never lost."

Being a winner can have a profound effect on whether or not one views oneself as a winner.

But realizing why Goofy was named goofy was a bit of a shock. I had just thought of "Goofy" as a name, not as an adjective with a direct connection to the character it was modifying.

We forget our names have meanings. And in doing so I think we miss the significance of those meanings.

My (real) first name means "giver." A characteristic I can't seem to get away from.

My nick, PCModem, was given to me by a former boss (back when I used to have a job) because I was the "computer genius" (like the character in the CompUSA commercials).

PCM (over the shock regarding goofy)
