Hi Confluence,
Vaughn's Rombouts article is titled "An Overview Of 1998 Diamond Mining And Exploration". Ancient history! This year is a new one, and next's years article will have more to say about Brazil and Angola, IMHO. He has consulted for Rex in Mauritania and SAf, and with several NWT diamond explorers. KRT comes to mind. He may consult with Monopros associated companies,...George Tromp would know all of them I'm sure.
The article is dated. Yetwene is back into production (DMW), Winspear valuation is now $98US rather than $301US, and the Government has forced DeBeers and the Diamond Valuator to submit to a form of binding arbitration and a deadline. The matter should be resolved shortly if you believe the SAf newspapers. The United Nations is spearheading the first steps in a Worldwide ban on purchasing Angolan diamonds from the UNITA rebel group. Cutting off their supply of money, will cause them to come to the table to discuss a peace treaty,...perhaps similar to what has been happening in Sierra Leone.
Rombouts article is a nice review of last year, but Vaughn, I think your points at the bottom are a bit of a stretch. Do you have a lot of money tied up in the NWT-SUF joint venture partners, or some other NWT interest related to the properties? Perhaps that is the problem you have with the rest of SUF's interests.
If so, I have a solution. Sell them,...and buy more SUF. Then you can be happy too,...and do the hamster dance with us. (Turn up the speaker volume).
