Adam & thread,
re techstocks.com
I was having trouble linking to the portfolio; Adam was kind enough to help via PM and I wanted to pass this on to the thread in case others are having similar problems.
When you link to the port, you need to link through classic SI. You cannot link through beta SI and then log on to classic SI. In other words, if you link from this post, do so while reading the post in classic SI, not beta. I'm sure there are other ways to get to the port, but if you're having trouble I know it can be done this way.
Adam (& thread), since this was your brainchild, I was hoping to ask a couple of questions about how it might be used;
1) From the purpose of an investor's standpoint of trying to understand the inter-relationship of the various holdings, what's the purpose of weighting the three buckets differently? (As opposed to simply entering 1 share of each.) Or am I reading too much into this? Maybe this is simply one way to look at overall performance of the Wired World holdings?
2) One use that comes immediately to mind is identifying short and long term areas of growth (or non-growth) within sub-sectors (i.e. retail sub-sector, communication sub-sector, financial sub-sector, etc.) What are some of the other uses you envision?
I'm a fairly new investor and these may be dumb questions, but you can't learn if you don't ask...
Thanks in advance. |
