New York has had Senators before who had nothing to do with New York--namely, Robert F. Kennedy (obviously a Democrat) and James Buckley (brother of William, and a Republican).

I frankly would like to see a New Yorker run for this seat. It almost makes me nostalgic for Al D'Amato who, criticize him if you will, did serve local needs, thus earning himself the nickname, "Sen. Pothole."
