I don't know about Datek,they are talking 'Dutch Auction' a la W.R. Hambrecht,not a very succesful way of doing IPOs going by the lackluster performance and reception of couple IPOs Hambrect have done like Salon and the one they have done for that wine outfit,I wouldn't want anything to do with a 'dutch auction' myself. Their attempt at distributing Goldman Sachs's IPO also fizzled resulting in a lot of pissed off customers.Right now 'wit' is it and they have the advantage bar none,including eTrade,Fidelity,Schwab,DLJ, or whomever.None of them have Goldman Sachs behind them either.
