Rejoining late, I'm semi-organic (on peaches, I'd use dormant oil & lime-sulpher before bud-out, then BT.

I'd get a few worms, but you know, if you cut open a peach you can see the worms pretty easy (they rarely bothered pears tho - worst offenders were bees & wasps)

When the Japanese Beatles would start defoliating the trees, I'd use
an organic treatment from a catalogue. If that did not work, I'd use
hard core pesticides once. If that did not phase them, I'd pick whatever I could, then go back to hard core to save the trees & toss the fruit.

Remember in Europe, the Greens have a lot more political influence than here, and when you combine that with non-numeric trade barriers, such as the Japanese have specialized in, it's a nasty combo. Strongly agree with your sentiments Mike. Scott
