Excellent discussion on marketing and pricing policies for service initiation (we have some sharp cookies here). My understanding, however, is G* is at the mercy of service providers to set retail pricing for both service and handsets. I'm not aware of any leverage G* has with them except the minimum payments required to keep exclusivity. So all of our ranting and raving and excellent suggestions can only be implemented by G* if they offer special pricing to service providers with condition that they pass along the specials to customers. As such has anyone passed along to G* these suggestions/recommendations?? Who should we contact??

I for one am a firm believer in a teaser rate to set the hook. I've been a Sprint PCS subscriber for over a year on a $16.99/month special thats due to expire in 1/2000. Due to excellent performance, I'll likely renew albeit at higher rates. No reason this couldn't work for G* too, on a limited basis of course.

Another suggestion I'd like to pass on to G* and Airtouch. It dawned on me today that the QCOM omnitracks users would be excellent targets for G* service. Perhaps Air and Qcom could jointly market the phones and kits with special pricing to help develop market rapidly and provide greater customer service. That's my 2cents.
