I just saw the video clip:

ATHM's is expecting an increase in subscriber growth rates starting between the first and third quarters of next year as cable ready pc's are readied for retail distribution. What they call the "self install" regime. It's about time. Let's hope the MSOs can string cable a little faster to keep up.

Other interesting points regarding AOL.

In previous talks regarding granting AOL access to ATHM's network the MSO's and ATHM were amenable to this if AOL helped to pay for a portion of the infrastructure costs and for ATHM to "get it's pound of flesh" from any broadband AOL users. In other words to participate in the revenues generated from an AOL broadband user. AOL refused.

On a related subject - not part of Bell's comments.

In ATHM's latest filing they mention they're working with compaq, compusa, and Dell to provide cable ready PC's. I quickly scanned the dell sight and it looked like you could order a cable ready pc now. Could that be just for some selected MSOs?
