Thank you, Mike. I owe my survival to the hummingbirds that have taken over my back yard this year. I put a feeder at the edge of the patio cover a month ago, and it's gotten very popular. The males are very territorial, and the alpha controlling my feeder dive bombs any fool who dares to try and take a sip from his private stock. Sometimes he chases them under the patio cover, and we have to duck to avoid getting speared.

I set up my 27 year old Minolta SRT101 on a tripod, and am trying to get pictures to verify their species. Those little suckers move so fast, I'm having a tough time catching them on film <g>. My tentative classification is Anna's Hummingbirds, which are very common in California. I found a picture of them at portalproductions.com

I have great hopes for the next few weeks, Mike, but I've learned that the market can be pretty perverse in the short term. Thanks for your good wishes :-)

Frank
