Hi JB2; About those big piles of 1000 share trades... I've seen that happen on the ISLD book of AMZN around 4 or so times per day last week. Maybe it was this sort of action. As far as fooling anyone, I doubt it, at least on ISLD. Maybe they usually get their shares 1000 at a time by preferencing market makers, but use ISLD also. The pattern on ISLD is obvious as all get out. First a single 1000 share limit order, then about 4 more within a second or two.

It's not a matter of faith that profitable high volume scalpers exist. I know for a fact they exist. I also know that they cannot continue to run their profits up because they end up with too much capital to manage. What they generally do at that point is to play longer term.
