StockDoc, ARQL is very closed mouthed at the moment. they keep saying that by year end there will be new deals and all will be well. But, that's been said before and we're still waiting. With no news and only speculation to work with, it's hard to make a rational evaluation.

Your statement - "My totally speculative estimate is that approximately 1 in 100 billion molecules have significant potential for becoming a useful new drug"

This maybe true if you select your molecules absolutely randomly. The whole idea behind ARQL's bioinformatics effort is to make this a non-random rational process based upon empirical evidence as to the kinds of molecules that have been successful at affecting particular kinds of targets in the past. This should greatly lower the odds, at least in theory <G>.
