I, too, have been getting some good signals from Opentext about new customers, significant wins vs. documentum etc. Also, they are internally in a significant cost cutting mode because they were over budget last quarter. One concern I have is that they have some internal problems to resolve related to providing timely and knowlegeable tech support and documentation. I say this based on first had knowledge. I am a consultant who has worked on several accounts that are Opentext customers. The sales force is doing a great job of selling the product - and it is a solid product - but the support issues will certainly hurt the company unless they are addressed quickly. In the very least, they will hinder the ability of OT to upsell existing accounts for more licenses, more services, etc. Worst case scenario, these limitations will travel to potential clients and hurt sales.
I too have bought shares at 8. My 3 year target price for the company is $65. Time will tell ...
