Got a homework assignment for anyone interested. Forbes magazine recently published an e-mail address and invited anyone who had newsworthy companies to advise them on what companies to cover in Silicon valley. you can e-mail them at silicon@forbes.com and tell em about AXC! I already did, told em it'd be a great story, gave em a brief rundown and history of Ampex. Its so intriguing I keep hoping some month we'll see them have a 2 page spread going out to 2 million subscribers, and a lot more readers! Note how they covered Terastor recently. they're on the prowl for breaking tech companies.
Haven't seen anything on Courthouse page about Ampex decision, tho AXC IR said it should end this week. However, I didn't note anything from 97, so maybe they're behind in posts? Didn't look real far, just did a search for AXC.
And Gus, what good news about DST/DIS line! huge increase in capacity, which seems to me to be more than outpacing the rest of the industry. Would seem such increases would bring the cost per megabyte of storage from 5 cents or so when they first started to under 1 cent when they achieve the 10X increase only couple years away. I knew they had lots more improvements up their sleeve from reading their white paper on the web site, but had no idea it would be 10X!!!! Such growth has a good chance of further penetrating the corporate market i'd think. Only thing is, tho Unix info thats backed up is growing at 50-60%/year, the NT market is coming on strong and I've read in just 2 to 3 years could outsize the Unix market, but I've seen not one iota of news that AXC is ever going to target Windows NT market. Good question for IR and management at the shareholders meeting. Nice to see the pop up in shares, tho it befuddles me how on the same very very low volume what makes the difference between zooming up 1/2 or diving down 1/2? Always sellers and buyers, why does it go up one day same amt/volume when just couple days earlier this week went down on same amt/volume??? Odd to me. Only the direction is different. |
