You failed to realize the beauty of windows is that there is no admin on the user's desktop. 2000 does provide a framework for remote administering if it is ever needed.

And as you stated you need to be a "UNIX sys Admin" to configure/install things under Solaris. Your average end user is only going to create havoc at the root prompt trying to read man pages and executing cryptic sequences of commands.

I for one have absolutely no plans to purchase another PC. Furthermore, I don't know anyone who doesn't have a PC that plans on getting one in the future. The vast majority of PC users would gladly replace their local storage monster with high network bandwidth

ROFL - what are you going to replace your home PC with ? To date I know of no ISP's that support JavaStations ... does JavaOS even support modems ... if so hopefully they've created a PPP wizard to help with the install ; not likely ?
