RE: With all due respect, us youngin's (<vbg>) may look at things differently now. Besides, not everyone is strong and big. Many are 'just' quick and agile. I have a 14 year old who is into sports. I was an asst. NJB coach one season and I go to all of his games and belong to his High School's BBall Booster Club. When he was younger he was into soccer/baseball/hockey and he was real good. He was an allstar pitcher in little league. It has been my experience that soccer is still perceived as the sport for also rans. Similar with volleyball, which I love. My son was MVP in league volleyball but most of the "best" athletes in his school never tried out! Hey, but we won the league championship anyway. :^) Oh, I asked the school's basketball coach why none of the varsity BBall star players went out for volleyball. His reply: "It's a girls sport". This was in 1999.
