What would invalidate my thesis regarding ABTX? Here are a few things:
1.) Inability to integrate acquisitions into one functioning company
2.) Loss of financial viability (inability to handle debt load)
3.) Failure to move from commodity to higher value proprietary products
4.) Failure of research to create value-added biotechnology products
5.) Loss of competitive advantage
6.) Failure of management to execute business strategy

Items one and two have been my greatest worries up until now. I think we are moving into items three and four. Items five and six were a problem until the new management took over (though they are always an ongoing issue).
Though I may be long a particular stock, I am always willing to sell immediately if the long-term prospects of the company are damaged. However, I don't care what the short-term price does if the long-term advantages are still intact. I invest on fundamentals, not price. ABTX is still a very attractive investment for the long haul.
