As QwikSand pointed out companies are giving away PCs to people who will sign contracts for Internet services. [Those free PC don't need high-powered Intel chips.] People who need more than basic Internet services but who do not like like MSFT are turning to LINUX, a form of UNIX, because LINUX is cheap. My husband runs Star Office LINUX at work. We will run LINUX/UNIX on new home PC but what kind of PC that will be I don't know. Should our new computer run true 64 bit with Alpha chip, then I guess we would run a Sun chip. Is there a future for a Dell or CPQ PC with Windows whatever? I don't know. I wish I knew....
