It suggests that open iron is making in-roads into the server environment. MSFT, INTC, DELL, CPQ, GTW and companies like VA Linux/Redhat will be the primary beneficiaries; also AMD if they can get an n-way Athlon config going.

There is potential for more Solaris x86 sales but I don't know if people will be willing to pay for UNIX on x86 since Linux 6.0 is proving to be robust and scalable and may now have more 3rd party vendor support.
