Hi Jeffrey,

Re I was in San Jose yesterday and took a spin by the AMAT plant. It appears to me
they are doing some expansion there with a new building under construction off of
the Central Expressway. Do you know anything about this? Best regards, Jeff

Belated answer, or what I saw anyway, on the AMAT plant under construction in Sunnyvale, off Central Expressway...I walked by the "back side" of it today during a noon-time walk. That's along Arques Ave., and you can see the plant from, guessing, about 500 yards away. There is a guard shack on the Arques side, guard in it, and a sign that says Applied, etc., construction for Etch Product Business Group. The building is a big mama, looked like 5 or 6 stories, with parking garage in the back, also 5 or 6 stories. I could see down one side, and it is quite long. It looks pretty much complete, but I can only see the outside of course. I'll try to do some more snooping another day this week. Anyone know why a new building specifically for the "Etch Product Business Group"?

As for that weather, that was as hot as it gets here, although we can go over 100 a couple or three days a year. Dry, though, unlike back in the old country (New England).

Back to the AMAT building, reminds me of my mother in law's stock picking methods: she's been known to buy stocks because she heard the name of the company in the bank line, or "because she saw that they were putting up a new building across town." Hope we're not basing a position on that building! :-|
