Beta Completion and National Rollout on Schedule
VANCOUVER, BC - July 06, 1999 - WelcomeTo Search Engine, Inc. (OTCBB: WKWG),
a leader in the development of regional business directory services and
e-commerce solutions, announces the completion of its beta site on June
30th. The database has been enhanced and the search engine optimized and
fully tested.
“We have accomplished the goals we set out at the start of our beta program.
The basic architecture on which the product is built has met and exceeded
our expectations,” said Phil Dubois, president and CEO of WelcomeTo Search.
“At the same time, we were able to make enhancements to the user interface
based on the feedback we received from our users. We will continue to
enhance the system based on user input.”
The company met its goal of signing up 200 banner ads with a mix of national
and local firms. Additionally, local advertisers have contracted forty
e-commerce web sites, which represents 20% of the companies that placed
banner advertising with WelcomeTo Search.
WelcomeTo Search will begin its national rollout in Oregon on July 28, 1999.
Subsequent states will be rolled out beginning in September 1999 in
conjunction with partners currently being established in each state.
“Our products are designed to be highly scalable and the beta has
demonstrated that they can support a full national rollout very quickly,”
said Dubois. “Our business strategy is to establish partnerships with
companies who will assist us in promoting the business services directory in
their region and who will sell the banner advertising and priority listing
services to businesses in their markets.”
