t2k: The volume was light for the most of the day as it treaded water. Then some smart asses jumped up the volume on the sell side and pushed the price down in what had to look like a gap. No real volume here. I guess the big boys are waiting for the earnings. This looks like a good entry point for late comers. I was encouraged by Ralph Ac. who said that he is bullish for the rest of the year but he is wildly bullish about 2000 for the market in general. A lot of folks are speculating that if we really wind up with this surplus (some say a trillion) there will be no gov't debt to buy because none will be needed hence the bond market will zoom to 4% yields; in which case the equity market will explode. In the meanwhile other than the law suits all the news out of MSFT is gangbusters. JFD
