John,

I live in Salt Lake City. My RBOC is US West (the evil enemy) but interesting note is that Electric Lightwave (ELI) is a phone company out of Vancouver Washington that is here to compete with US West. US West is trying to fight by not cooperating with them and ELI has filed grievances. My ISP has had ISDN PRI lines installed by ELI and so completely by-passed US Worst and they informed that doing business with ELI is great in comparison to the evil enemy.

I have made many statements about my passionate hatred of both the RBOC's and Cable companies. TCI Cablevsion would supply me with internet access if it does indeed get deployed. I'm not gonna hold my breath, and anyhow ISDN is fine for now. I'm fortunate that I don't have to pay ISDN per minute charges and my ISP does not charge any additional $$ for ISDN. Why should they? They already have ISDN PRI lines installed. I've been trying to figure out ISP's who charge substantial ISDN user fee's over and above the basic $20 per month and I can't figure it out. I think their scamming people as there ISDN PRI lines are of unlimited use, no per minute charges. That is at least true in my RBOC area, can't really speak for PacBell.

Derek
