Hello...anyone there?
Looks like things could be turning here. They got rid of the deadwood...hopefully it shows in the #'s!!! I wish they get themselves on NASDAQ... TSE is useless for small companies like this...valuations much more favourable on the US side! __________________________________________________
DataMirror launches new Enterprise Administrator DataMirror Corp DMC Shares issued 10,360,060 Jul 5 close $4.45 Tue 6 Jul 99 News Release Mr. Nigel Stokes reports DataMirror Corporation has launched a powerful new Enterprise Administrator for Transformation Server, the company's award-winning cross platform data integration product. Enterprise Administrator features a common graphical interface powered by Java, and allows users to manage enterprise data integration across all major database systems from a single location. It will reduce the total cost of ownership for administering data movement for organizations with multiple databases. Through a single unified administration point, Enterprise Administrator eliminates redundant tasks in configuring multiple systems by intelligently querying agents about their capabilities and characteristics. This feature discovery capability greatly streamlines configuration and management of data integration across platforms such as UNIX, Windows NT and IBM AS/400 and S/390. Users can easily set up tables on various servers for integration, specify movement parameters and start either full refresh, periodic net-change replication or real-time data mirroring. Overall performance can also be improved by off-loading administration functions from production systems to the portable and platform independent Enterprise Administrator. "We're aggressively jumping on Enterprise Administrator," said Brian Ary, project leader for ADT Automotive/TYCO International. "As a user, I know it will save me a lot of time. I no longer need to move between a number of systems and interfaces to get complex things done. Because I can remotely access my systems using Enterprise Administrator, I can provide faster response and a higher level of service - even from home." Enterprise Administrator uses the portability of Java to enable complete platform independence. The common interface runs on the Java Virtual Machine (JVM) and can be installed on any system running the Java Runtime Environment (JRE). Enterprise Administrator ensures that Transformation Server has a consistent look and feel on all supported systems. "Utilizing the power and portability of Java, this new interface will completely change the way our customers manage the end-to-end flow of business data throughout their organization," said Nigel Stokes, chairman, oresident and chief executive officer of DataMirror. "Previously, managing a complex replication network involved the co-ordinated efforts of administrators working in the various publisher and subscriber environments. Now a single user with only general knowledge of the different systems involved can easily manage the entire replication network from a central location." In keeping with DataMirror's e-commerce and Internet strategy, future releases of Enterprise Administrator available in the second half of this year will enable browser-based, install-free configuration of Transformation Server via an intranet, extranet or over the Internet. Any connected user with valid authorization and a standard Web browser will be able to simply click on a link or visit a URL to run Enterprise Administrator. Enterprise Administrator is currently available for Transformation Server for OS/390, and will be generally available for Oracle and Sybase on July 12, 1999. The new interface is scheduled to be rolled out across all Transformation Server supported platforms including Microsoft SQL Server by the end of July and IBM AS/400 by the end of September, 1999.
