Thanks for those articles Gaston, I have been interested ever since my Amazon visit.

BTW I do recall when this event happened (the goal I mean not the assassination) - it was at Stanford, and even then the enthusiasm was tempered a bit on the part of the journalists that covered the story. Like I said when they reported that he had scored a goal for the USA team (enabling a win, that was the important element I think), the story kind of moved from sport to tragedy. I'm just sorry he didn't stay in the US instead of returning to Columbia, I'm sure he must have considered it, but that in itself could have had ramifications for the other team members. This is indeed the saddest sports story of recent memory.
