If you don't have one, then how can you make such statemnts? I had one for 6 months before, and I just got my own one this last week for my personal use. If the external battery doesn't do it, then return it, because it is designed that way. O.K. I've had my 860 for a couple of weeks now(new from Airtouch) and the internal battery will not charge from the external battery. But other than that it is a really sweet phone. Engineer, what's your take on this? Should I return it to Airtouch or should I humor you? Bux
