Actually Qwik that was a nice start for remote desktop, although let's remember it's probably 2 years away to compete with the functionality of similar components/apps available on a MAC/MSFT desktop. There is a big -ve to this thing; zero user privacy; data transmitted in the clear and my important data is sitting out there on some server.

This may work in a corporate intranet type setting where the intranet and it's components are considered trusted and a company has full control over the data and server access. All this needs is some marketing and richer app development. If Lotus (eSuite team), Sun, Netscape put some joint effort into this or some third party could come up with a really good network office suite, the corporate MSFT desktop could be challenged ... SUNW could sell a lot of bigass iron with this too.

For home use I don't think that I would trust some third party to hold all my data. I would be relying on them being up 7*24 and would rely on them keeping my data private. There will always be some hacker that will find a back-door into the system; or other privacy issues.

Cheers
James
