but Net. The company helps get its clients moving
down the information superhighway by developing
e-commerce systems, Web sites, back office Internet
applications, and data warehousing and EDI (electronic
data interchange) systems. In a bid to expand its
services, AppNet has aggressively pursued a string of
acquisitions (almost a dozen in one year) to bolster its
e-profile. The company counts Ford Motor Company
(15% of sales), the US government (13%), America
Online, and Arrow Electronics among its clients.
Venture capital firm GTCR owns about 44% of AppNet.
