Paul Mercia appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Cybersurf Corp.
Cybersurf founder and President Paul Mercia has been appointed to the position of President and Chief Executive Officer of Cybersurf Corp. Mr. Mercia's appointment was by unanimous decision of the company's board of directors, and is an indication of the next stage of company's evolution within the information technology arena. Mr. Mercia plans to aggressively market Cybersurf and its products over the course of this year, and to focus on the overall growth of the company. Other fundamental changes to Cybersurf's corporate structure were recently made, such as a strengthening of the company's upper management team and the development of business relationships crucial to the long-term success of Cybersurf Corp. and the 3web Network.
Mr. Mercia has been with Cybersurf Corp. since its inception and has been the key person responsible for the company's successful ventures to date, such as the development of the world's first Central Server Access technology (the Virtual T1), the world's first Internet banking software (Firstlink), and most noteworthy, Canada's only free Internet service (the 3web Network). Mr. Mercia has several years' experience in assembly level programming, application design, digital Networking and database management. In addition Mr. Mercia has been responsible for creating and closing many of the business deals fundamental to the company's growth. Much of the financing for the development and maintenance of the 3web Network was assembled by Mr. Mercia in the past, and the company's future financing will continue to be one of the primary responsibilities of Mr. Mercia in his new position.
Mr. Mercia states that his mandate for the foreseeable future is to direct the operations of the company during its growth mode, focusing on the expansion of Cybersurf and the 3web Network, and on the generation of revenues. This decision comes prior to Cybersurf's intended move into the Toronto market with its premiere software release, 3web. 3web is Cybersurf's software application that provides free, unlimited Internet access and free Email accounts to its members. 3web is supported entirely by commercial advertising and E-commerce initiatives. 3web currently has 111,000 members in the cities of Calgary and Edmonton, and anticipates similarly positive public response for Toronto's launch. Also included within the 3web Network's infrastructure are E-commerce driven services such as 3auction (an online auction service) and the 3web Galleria (an online shopping mall).
