I agree with you. But there's still no reason to at least try to get a better price. Look at it like so... if you have $10,000 to invest and you get the stock at 60, you only can buy 165 shares, but if you get it at 50 you can buy 200. I always think like that because I have so little money ($3k in my play account at the moment, but I'm a poor grad student) You can get 20% more shares if you buy at 50. The 10 points won't make a difference but the 20% more shares will. If you're going to buy 100 shares no matter what, then it's not as big a deal.
