NEW YORK, July 7 (Reuters) - Goldman Sachs and Co.'s new telecommunications analyst, Frank Governali, on Wednesday started coverage of 17 companies.
On the recommended list were MCI WorldCom Inc. (Nasdaq:WCOM), SBC Communications Inc. (NYSE:SBC), Ameritech Corp. (NYSE:AIT), AT&T Corp. (NYSE:T), CenturyTel Inc. (NYSE:CTL), ITC DeltaCom Inc. (Nasdaq:ITCD) and Metromedia Fiber Network Inc. (Nasdaq:MFNX).
On the market outperform list were Level 3 Communications Inc. (Nasdaq:LVLT), Sprint Corp. (NYSE:FON), BellSouth Corp. (NYSE:BLS), Alltel Corp. (NYSE:AT) and NorthEast Optic Network Inc. (Nasdaq:NOPT).
On the market performer list were Bell Atlantic Corp. (NYSE:BEL), U S West Inc. (NYSE:USW), GTE Corp. (NYSE:GTE), IXC Communications Inc. (Nasdaq:IIXC) and Frontier Corp. (NYSE:FRO). |
