Alt Tab stuff -- a guess.

When you have a bunch of applications open, Alt-Tab 'shuffles the deck' and you get a different window on top each time. My guess is that with each window taking turns getting the 'focus', you get a chance to save your work before closing each. The End Task button may close the application without giving you the 'save your work' option.

Another guess. Are you thinking of the 'X' in the upper right corner of the window, next to '_' and '8' as the End Task button? On my system, this is a 'Close' button. I think that SystemWorks is warning users who press Ctrl-Alt-Delete keys not to use the End Task button shown in the 'Close Program' box which appears. This button has 'End Task' printed on it, along with the 'Cancel' and 'Shut Down' buttons.

Hope this helps, PW.
