TONY JUST ATE *MAJOR* CANS OF WHOOPASS...

and so did Pluvia.

I've spent part of the afternoon trying to make a bet with Tony on WAVX...asking him to put his money where his big mouth is...but Tony doesn't have the intellectual honesty or the cojones to do that.

He has repeatedly stated that WAVX is a "piece of garbage"...and that it is going to $5.00...and then to "single digits."

Well, in post 40437, I asked Tony to accept a friendly bet. I would bet him $500.00 that WAVX wouldn't go into single digits.

Tony came back a post later and QUICKLY BACKED OFF his oft-stated position: HE'D bet that WAVX WOULD GO *UNDER $12.00* before it hit $21.00.

I asked him in #40443 what happened to "single digits"?

He replied in #40446 "That comes within 180 days"...and then went on to state that he was a long-term short in WAVX. Once again, back to his position of single digits.

So again I formulated the bet in #40474:

1. If WAVX goes under $10.00 first before the end of this year (roughly 180 days)...I'll gladly pay him what he requested...a six-pack of Diet Coke.

2. But if WAVX hits $21.00 first before the end of this year...he'll pay me a six-pack of Dr. Pepper.

I then asked him if he wanted to make those prices intraday or closing. (Which he's never replied to.)

His reply is in post #40474: "My bet is on."

Once again the slippery Tony seems to be discarding his oft-stated position. What does "my" mean? It seems to mean that he's running back to his "under $12.00" retreat.

I've since been trying to pin him down...but Tony won't have any of it.

AND I'M GIVING HIM ALL THE ADVANTAGES:

1. Odds are very good that there will be a major correction in the markets in the second half of this year...with the Dow probably falling into the 9000s...and this drop could start as early as mid- to late-August. A BIG ADVANTAGE FOR TONY.

2. I've only been investing in the market for 6 months (have done well with my only two positions: WAVX and SNMM). Tony is "the expert" who has many years of experience in the markets...along with lots of inside media contacts who feed him the news before the public gets it...along with his many other contacts...and his many followers who take the positions he takes. I've got NONE of that stuff.

***AND YET TONY STILL WON'T TAKE THIS FRIENDLY BET.***

He shoots his mouth off...and then when he's challenged to stick by his position...he dances away from it and tries to divert attention from the fact that HE'S just eaten a number of cans of whoopass by spouting that the OTHER guy has eaten whoopass. What a joke!

I'm glad Tony's been exposed...at least on this matter of WAVX.

I've never had ANY problem with shorts feeling that WAVX was currently over-valued and then making some money off that. That's the way this game is played. I've made tons of money on the long side...and will continue to do so...while you people jump in and out and make some money on the short side. NO PROBLEMO.

But you try to pretend that this making some money on WAVX on the short side is based on your better understanding of WAVX, its business model and its long-term prospects. Give me a break! Why can't you be honest and say that you think WAVX may be overvalued at the moment...and that you've got a leak from Barron's about an upcoming story that slams WAVX (by a guy who also doesn't understand WAVX)...and that you're going to jump in to make some money? NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT.

I've just called Tony's bluff on his long-term understanding and stated "price call" on WAVX v. mine. He won't accept a friendly bet on these matters...so he's revealed his own hot air.

He has eaten major whoopass on this one. And I only use his beloved phraseology because he loves to throw it at others so much.

Good luck to all here on shorting true "pieces of garbage"...and even on making some money on WAVX from time to time as it fluctuates.

Regards,

Newman.

P.S. Tony: No wonder you won your other two bets on SI...you obviously aren't one to accept a fair bet in the first place. And I suspect that if you eventually do accept my bet [I'll give you till 4:00 a.m. eastern time tomorrow (July 8th) morning to respond...so you can't claim you didn't see this stuff. And with your response in #40474, you've already shown you saw my offered bet in #40474...and my early offered bet in #40437]...you're probably working the phones right now to see if you can get some fund managers or media people to help you win.
