The VIA situation is kind of interesting.....but if you read this week's Business Week you will note an article about how Intel is crushing its competitors in microprocessors and other products. If VIA becomes a viable competitor to Intel in processors and/or chipsets, watch out. Intel will use its massive muscle to work those guys over, but good. Remember guys and gals, at this point it is not important whether Rambus performance is better than PC 133. It is only important that Intel believes that Rambus is the correct solution to its long term needs. I don't believe for a minute that tests showing RDRAM with camino to be no better than SDRAM 133 will move the stock if Intel is still behind the Rambus technology. Rambus will be "what's inside" and it will sell and it will generate royalties.
