US has not done anything to antogonize china. Why ? Because of the trade relations and the fact that the US salivates over the huge chinese market for US goods. India/indians need to realize this and do accordingly.

So, you think India too should create an Indian market for US goods? Well, good luck trying to take that one past the "swadeshi" fruitcakes of the RSS, VHP et. al.! :-)

Unlike pakistan which got it's nuclear devices and missiles off the shelf with chinese and korean instructions, india largely developed it's technology through R&D.

That's what you brag about. The reality is that India's nuclear, space, and missile sectors have received ample assistance from Canada, Europe, Russia and the US. Don't forget that India got hold of radioactive material only because of President Truman's "atoms for peace" program.

And in case you chose to forget about it, let me remind you that for all the Defence Research and Development Organisation's boasts about "self-reliance," it took a Russian consultant to identify the software-induced failure during the second Agni test.

If India really had any worthwhile technology of its own, it would have reflected in the goods and services available to its own people -- like paper-clips that work, for instance! <G>

The result now is that, that space technology will allow india to launch it's own telecom, metro... and other countries satellites at fractional costs (as it did recently).

Do you know that ISRO's space programme is saddled with the highest launch failure rate in the world? And do you really think that the present sanctions imposed by the US is going to make it better?
