Yo, levy...I have been to Alaska many times...my grandparents live in Anchorage. I have not done the cruise however.

I have done small boat trips in Seward and Prince William Sound many, many times.
Talk about wildlife...whales, otters, eagles, moose, puffins, sea lions all on one trip. And to watch the Glaciers calve is inspiring!
I know some people from the cruises take the train to Mt. McKinley...I was there last summer...saw many grizzleys. Anything you do in Alaska will be a treasure for you.

Does the cruise go to Kodiak? If so...you must go view the bears gorging on salmon!

As for snorkeling on Palau...I saw an IMAX movie about Palau...what an amazing place. Did you go to the lake of Jellyfish???
