Bob, Elan fell a bit after their always eccentric accounting was discovered to be under SEC scrutiny. Actually, a decent little operating co., but real scamsters in the bookkeeping dept. I would avoid them due to the fact that you have to discount all earnings for sharp pencil problems, and it is impossible to know what is real.

Ocean Energy is up since April on the higher price of oil and gas and the fact that they are producing more. The large losses don't seem to bother investors. I don't follow it closely, but I think the oil stocks are at or near their peaks.
