Good News++ We are officially in the Russel 2000 small cap index with a 0.0162% weighting. Of the roughly $12 billion value of all the stocks in the index, this represents about $2 million worth of Valence stock. At 6.875 per share, it amounts to about 285,000 shares that index funds will buy if they are to truly represent the index. I am not aware of any rules that set a timetable or of any compliance standards for determining when the index funds will begin purchasing. With double and sometimes triple counting, it should show up as twice that in daily volume.

As was suggested earlier, some with large short positions may have shorted more in recent weeks in an attempt to keep it out of the Russel because part of the selection criteria was market cap (share price x qty shares). Now that it is official, as Russel members have been notified, some of the shorts may be getting a little nervous and want to cover. It might be a good time to acquire more ahead of them or at least to avoid selling them any of your stock!

Best wishes to Valence longs!
