When a subpoena is issued in a criminal investigation, the receiving agency is not allowed to release to the requested parties information that a subpoena has been issued for it. This is done to protect the ongoing investigation. However, at the end of the investigation, all parties subpoenad in the investigation must be notified. I am not sure what the time window is, but I know that it has to be done, or an effort made to notify.

Does anyone here know that in the contract that you signed to gain membership with SI, that it guarantees that your information will be kept private?
